New witness to take the stand at Madlanga Commission

A new witness will take the stand at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Thursday morning.

Suspended Sedibeng SAPS District Commissioner Brigadier Mbangwa Nkhwashu concluded his testimony at the Commission on Wednesday.

Nkhwashu, who testified that murder accused Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe is his brother-in-law, has been accused of attempting to interfere in a murder investigation in which Molefe is implicated.

Molefe was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of Vereeniging engineer, Armand Swart, in April 2024.

When questioned about why Molefe denied that they are related, Nkhwashu told the Commission that Molefe is a liar.

“At this stage, Commissioner, Mr. Molefe is, according to me, a liar. He can’t tell the truth, and he lied to me in my eyes. So I would rather believe what the officials are saying than what Molefe is saying.”

Nkhwashu has extended an apology to Swart’s family.

He told the commission that if Molefe was involved in Swart’s murder, then justice should be served.
