ANC sends condolences following death of Bushy Maape

The African National Congress has sent their condolences to the family of former North West Premier Bushy Maape, his friends and the people of the North West.

Maape, who served as the premier from 2021 to 2024, died in a Johannesburg hospital on Saturday.

Maape was recruited into the underground structures of the ANC during the Apartheid era and was incarcerated on Robben Island in 1986.

ANC National Spokesperson, Mahlengi Bhengu says his life remains a testament to a generation of cadres who sacrificed greatly for freedom, democracy, education and development in South Africa.
