[File Image]: DA Mayoral Candidate Khathutshelo Rasilingwane wants a probe with the Public Protector to investigate the corruption allegations involving millions in public funds in Ekurhuleni.
The Democratic Alliance says the Presidency has received its request to authorise a Special Investigating Unit probe into alleged graft of R2-billion in Ekurhuleni on Gauteng’s East Rand.
That’s according to a statement from the DA’s mayoral candidate in Ekurhuleni, Khathutshelo Rasilingwane.
Last year, the party wrote to the SIU raising concerns around the alleged syphoning of money from the municipality where bills and invoices were allegedly manipulated by hackers.
The DA has requested the President to authorise an SIU investigation immediately.
🇿🇦 The DA will stop at nothing to root out corruption and ensure clean governance in Ekurhuleni.
