Gauteng Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni says he has established a team of specialists to investigate the Mazwi Kubheka kidnapping.
He says the team is from the police detective and intelligence units.
Twenty seven-year-old Kubheka disappeared on April 2nd but resurfaced at the Vosloorus Police Station last week.
His story made news headlines after his family called for a march for his safe return.

The family said Khubeka was kidnapped after refusing to sell the space of his tuck shop to foreign nationals.
Mthombeni says he is happy with the progress the team is making.
“We are hard at work; I have assigned the deputy who is responsible for crime detection. I have paired him with our provincial head from crime intelligence. I am quite happy with the progress though for now.”
