National Coloured Congress MP Fadiel Adams.
National Coloured Congress (NCC) MP Fadiel Adams did not consult the family of slain African National Congress (ANC) Youth League secretary general Sindiso Magaqa, when he took statements and recorded a cellphone video from the now self-confessed killer at Westville prison.
This is according to a statement from the investigating officer, Sandile Mavuka, which is being read out during Adams’s bail application at Pinetown Magistrates’ Court.
Mavuka says in his affidavit that the Magaqa’s family was shocked when they saw Sibusiso Ncengwa’s video online.
Adams allegedly visited Ncengwa in prison in January last year while he was still being tried for Magaqa’s murder.
The investigator says Adams misrepresented himself as an official parliamentary visitor, while he actually went in his personal capacity.

Meanwhile a small group of NCC and Patriotic Alliance members are protesting outside Parliament, showing their support for NCC leader and MP Adams.
The party’s whip Anastatia Davids says they want Adams to be released. “The demostration here today the pa is here with us to show support we also want to show south africa that coloured people are coming together they are seeing what is happening outside right now in the justice system the double standards and we are not happy about this.”
