Sundowns ready for tough clash against Kaizer Chiefs: Kekana

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Grant Kekana says the team is fully focused and ready for what he anticipates will be a difficult encounter against Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday evening at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.

Despite Sundowns’ strong performances this season, the Bafana Bafana international stressed that they will not take Amakhosi lightly.

While the Brazilians have dominated the league, Chiefs has shown noticeable improvement in recent weeks.

“It’s going to be a tough game, I think they have done well, especially in the second round to be in the position that they are in, despite them losing against Siwelele, we know what they have been like, so we will be wary of it, we will obviously plan to nullify it on the day.”

Kekana says the team is taking a cautious approach to their performance as they juggle domestic league commitments and preparations for the CAF Champions League final.

“Obviously, we are taking one game at a time; the focus right now is Kaizer Chiefs. I think when we get to the final, it is when we will be able to try and focus on it. Right now, our immediate focus is definitely the game against Kaizer Chiefs.”
