Sergeant Fannie Nkosi denied bail

Suspended police sergeant Fannie Nkosi has been denied bail by the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court.

Nkosi was arrested earlier this month following a raid at his Pretoria North home, where multiple police dockets, a stun grenade, ammunition and over R50.000 in cash were found.

The court found he may interfere with witnesses if released.

It also found that if released on bail, he may undermine the proper functioning and public confidence in the criminal justice system.

Nkosi testified at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria for eight days about his alleged links to alleged criminal cartel members Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala and Katiso “KT” Molefe.

In his affidavit, Nkosi has denied that he had stolen the dockets which were found in his possession.

During his earlier court appearance, Nkosi told the court that he would plead not guilty to all charges against him.
