Nkhwashu tells Madlanga Commission how he’s related to KT Molefe

Suspended Sedibeng South African Police Service (SAPS) District Commissioner Mbangwa Nkhwashu has told the Madlanga Commission that he is related to murder-accused, Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe through marriage.

Nkhwashu has been implicated through the testimony of Witness B, who alleged that he attempted to obtain the murder docket in the case of Vereeniging engineer Armand Swart.

Further evidence presented at the Commission suggests that Nkhwashu visited Molefe while he was in prison for Swart’s murder – allegedly after visiting hours and in a vehicle without registration plates.

Nkhwashu has told the Commission that he met Molefe through his partner, Fundiswa Nyandule who was previously married to Nkhwashu’s wife’s late younger brother.

“We met at a restaurant also in Alberton. When I met Katiso … it was the end of June 2024.
