[FILE] Lehlogonolo “Shebe Maburna” Chauke in court
A Limpopo musician, Lehlohonolo “Shebe Maburna” Chauke, has not submitted any request for medical attention while in custody since November last year.
This is according to a state witness and a nurse at the Polokwane correctional facility, Fikile Nkosi, who is testifying in the bail application of the musician in the local magistrate’s court.
Shebe Maburna is facing several charges, including attempted murder.
Nkosi has told the court that everybody in custody has access to medical treatment.
“Upon examination of the client, an assessment is taken, a diagnosis is made, and we will then inform the intervention or plan that will be needed for the particular person or inmate. If further assessment is needed, such as an operation, we do refer to external public hospitals and in our case, it will be the Pietersburg Provincial hospital, where the inmates are attended to.”
Limpopo musician accused of attempted murder is this morning expected to resume with his bail application in the Polokwane magistrate’s court. He wants to be granted bail to attend to his health.
