Namibia crowned 2025 COSAFA Champions

Namibia has been crowned champions of the 2025 Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Championship. Namibia came from behind to beat hosts Banyana Banyana 2-1 in extra-time.

It took 36 minutes for Nthabiseng Majiya to put Banyana in the lead after a defensive blunder by Namibia. But Mudinatjo Hanavi scored a brilliant goal for Namibia nine minutes into the second half. Then Namibia took the lead early in extra time through Memory Ngonda.

The goal was enough to lead Namibia to their first COSAFA crown.

On Friday, Banyana beat Zimbabwe 4-2 on penalties. In the earlier semi-final, Namibia caused a major upset when they beat defending champions Zambia 1-nil.
