The Chairperson of Parliament’s Social Development Portfolio Committee, Bridget Masango, has called on government to fix systemic inefficiencies and poor governance that affect the country’s social development.

Masango says government should reach out to communities to fight social ills like hunger, poverty and inequality.
“In this month, the Department of Social Development should be launching programs to deliver services to communities, raise awareness about available social security programs and promote community participation in building a more caring and equal society. The committee has played a critical role in passing laws that give meaning to social justice and to ensure that policies are not just written but are implemented.”
