Weather Service warns of cold snap in Free State

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) in Bloemfontein has predicted cold conditions to continue in the Free State.

Forecaster Tshifhiwa Mathivha says the province can expect cold weather in the coming days.

Mathivha says on Sunday, a cold front is expected to hit the South Western part of the country with strong winds expected.

“This cold front is expected to bring in some damaging winds over most parts of the Free State province except the North Western parts. In terms of rainfall, isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected only over the Southern parts of the province.”

“From tomorrow [Sunday] until Wednesday. Otherwise we are not expecting any rainfall until Friday. Temperatures wise we are expecting mainly cold to cool temperatures throughout the week,” explains Mathivha.
