Accused number two in Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, Bongani Ntanzi.
Bongani Ntanzi’s childhood friend, Mandlenkosi “Shoes” Zondo is currently testifying at the High Court in Pretoria and has asked the court not to proceed with the affidavit that was being read out to him.
Zondo says he was forced to sign the statement, which allegedly contains content he is not aware of.
He is testifying on behalf of Ntanzi, who is accused number two in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
Ntanzi and four co-accused are on trial for the 2014 murder of former Bafana Bafana captain, who was shot and killed at singer Kelly Khumalo’s mother’s house in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg.
“I am requesting that the court also considers my side as well. Gininda never gave me time or a chance to read the statement, he forced me to sign it. Secondly, when he called me saying that Mr Baloyi wanted to see me, I told him again that this was not my statement. He then said, let us rectify it because his superior wanted it. He then wrote for a very short time and, my lord, he finished and said time was against him.”
