Gauteng police are conducting investigations after a mother and her four-day-old baby have died in house fire in Springs on the Eastrand. The Ramasedi family is devastated after a fire claimed the life of 37-year-old Moipone Ramasedi and her baby, Naledi.
The two perished when flames engulfed their home in the early hours of Saturday.
It is not clear at this stage what caused the blaze.
Moipone’s 12-year-old daughter survived the fire as she was able to escape from the house, while the children’s father was not present at the time of the incident. The Ramasedi family is calling on police to fully investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.
Police have confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
