Four killed in N2 multi-vehicle crash near Mtubatuba

Four people have been killed in a multi-vehicle crash on the N2 near Mtubatuba on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast. Traffic authorities say a truck apparently rear-ended a minibus taxi, triggering a chain-reaction involving three other vehicles.

Sindi Msimang from the Road Traffic Authority says the collision caused traffic to back up on the N2.

“N2 north carriageway is affected around Kodibe Mtubatuba area and this is due to an accident that claimed four lives, two males and two females. This accident involved a pile-up of five vehicles which is a heavy motor vehicle, three light motor vehicles and a minibus.”
