Dry taps.
Kalafong Hospital in Pretoria West is experiencing low water pressure after a burst pipe near a railway station was repaired, affecting operations since Saturday.
The Gauteng Health Department says the hospital is relying on backup water systems, including storage tanks and boreholes, to maintain essential services.
Spokesperson Steve Mabona says the disruption has impacted areas such as outpatient clinics, casualty and administrative offices, while critical units remain operational.
“The outpatient appointments in affected clinics are being rescheduled, and members of the public seeking non-emergency medical care are advised to visit alternative healthcare facilities until the water pressure stabilizes. The department apologizes to the patients and the public for the inconvenience caused by this service interruption.”
