Judgment in Bushiri co-accused’s recusal application reserved

Judgment has been reserved until Thursday in the fraud, racketeering, and money laundering case of self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri‘s co-accused.

The defence has filed an application requesting the High Court in Pretoria to set aside the April 2026 judgment that dismissed their application to recuse two prosecutors assigned to the case.

Willah Mudolo, who’s a Zambian national, is a key co-accused in a R102 million fraud, theft, and money laundering case involving Bushiri.

He appeared along with his wife and four others.

Mudolo’s legal representative, Advocate Mandla Hlatshwayo, has threatened to approach the Constitutional Court if the court proceeds with the trial.

“My submission is the rights of the accused are being infringed as we speak. As long as these two prosecutors are part of the prosecution team, the rights of the accused are being infringed. Accused one and two are not going to have a fair trial.”
