Accused number two in the former Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa murder trial Bongani Ntanzi speaks to his lawyer.
The defence in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is expected to call two more witnesses for accused number two, Bongani Ntanzi, when the case resumes in the Pretoria High Court on Friday.
This is after Defence witness, Villieria police station commander Colonel Silas Thoka, concluded his evidence in chief. Thoka told the court that there was no official record of a cellphone in the police’s occurrence book.

This is despite claims that items, including a cellphone, were confiscated from accused two, Bongani Ntanzi, while in police custody.
Thoka says there is no documentary evidence from the police station showing that the cellphone was ever transferred to the national cold case unit under lead investigator, Brigadier Bongani Gininda.
“Now, from what you have heard and from what I have just told you, the cellphone downloads play a very integral part in this matter. Can the cellphone that was recovered from the accused number two be registered as a prisoner’s property or as an exhibit in the SAP13? If it is deemed fit for evidential purposes, it will be registered as an exhibit. If it is only for the suspect’s personal property, it will be registered in the SAP22,” says Thoka.
