The Democratic Alliance (DA) holds its KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Congress, 9 May 2026.
Democratic Alliance (DA) delegates have gathered at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban for the party’s KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) congress.
They will elect new provincial leaders ahead of the crucial local government elections in November.
The congress is expected to shape the DA’s electoral strategy in a province where coalition politics and the rise of the uMkhonto Wesizwe Party (MKP) have shifted the political landscape.
The race is also being widely viewed as a test of whether the DA can expand support beyond its traditional urban voter base into townships and rural communities.
Newly elected federal leader Geordin Hill-Lewis and federal chairperson Solly Msimanga are expected to address delegates.
