The uMkhonto weSizwe Party member Colleen Makhubele has resigned from Parliament.
She was the party’s chief whip.
In a letter addressed to party leader and former South African President Jacob Zuma, Makhubele stated that after careful consideration, she believes her resignation as MP would be in the best interest of the MKP caucus and that she may be of better service in a different capacity.
The letter states that her resignation will take effect at the end of February and does not mention intent to leave the party as a whole.
