Democratic Alliance (DA) Gauteng Leader Solly Msimanga
Opposition parties in Gauteng are calling on Premier Panyaza Lesufi to present clear plans and real results, not new promises when he delivers his State of the Province Address (SOPA), on Monday evening.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) says when Lesufi takes to the podium, he must explain how and when his government will fix ongoing problems in the province including water supply, electricity, crime and struggling municipalities.

DA Provincial Chair Solly Msimanga says residents want to know what has been achieved since last year’s 13-point turnaround plan.
“We have looked at how municipalities are expected to sustain themselves financially going forward. We have also examined how they have become less and less capable of retaining administrators who are able to do the job because of political interference. At this point in time, some of these municipalities are unable to pay bulk service providers,” says Msimanga.
