The High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo.
The man accused of killing his wife outside Lebowakgomo Hospital in 2024 has been found guilty of murder at the High Court in Polokwane, Limpopo.
Fifty-eight-year-old Fannie Seribishane gunned down his wife, Mumsy Seribishane, as she was about to report for duty at the hospital.
Judge Karin Pillay says evidence presented by a ballistic expert is reliable as it linked the firearm used in the killing to the one found in Seribishane’s possession when he was arrested.
The deceased had a protection order against Seribishane and had started divorce proceedings a year before she was killed.
Sentencing will be handed down on 15 April.
Judge Pillay made the ruling.
“I am satisfied that you are guilty in respect of count one murder, read with the provisions of Section 51 Part One Schedule Two of Act 105 of 1997 as amended, contravening the provisions of Section 17 read Section One of the Domestic Violence Act 116 of 1998, contravening the protection order, contravening the provisions Section 3 read Section one, 103, 117, 121A, 121, 151 and Schedule Four of the Fire Control Act 6 of 2000.”
