The 29-year-old woman who gave birth to conjoined twins at the Mankweng Hospital outside Polokwane in Limpopo says she is hopeful that doctors will save her babies.
The twins were born joined at the abdomen over the weekend.
The mother, who has asked not to be identified, says she is still overwhelmed.
“I am still in shock over this rare birth. It is the first time I have experienced something like this. I used to see it happening to others, and now I am the one in that situation. I am still trying to make sense of everything. I am grateful to God for making me an example that such miracles still happen, and I remain hopeful that doctors will do everything in their power to help my babies.”
