HRC to release scholar transport report in North West on Monday

The Human Rights Commission (HRC) will, on Monday morning, release a report following its investigations regarding scholar transport in the North West.

The commission started its probe into scholar transport last year.

This followed endless complaints about unroadworthy buses, learners missing school time when buses did not pitch, non-payment of service providers by the government, amongst others.

Teacher unions, civic organisations, and the departments of Education and Transport Management made their presentations at the hearings in Mahikeng.

The commission is expected to make recommendations on what should be done to address challenges raised.
