The Civic Centre Taxi Association has apologised for a recent incident captured on video of its members assaulting motorists in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng.

This is after the victims of the incident opened a criminal case with the police. The association says that it regrets the incident and has commended the public for capturing, and reporting the matter.

“As an association, we regret the violent incident, in which patrollers employed by the association were involved in the scuffle with a civilian,” says the association’s Chairperson, Midday Mali.
Mali say the association notes with appreciation, that criminal cases have since been opened, and confirm that they will fully cooperate with the law enforcement authorities to ensure that the matter is properly addressed.
“At the same time, we want to really extend our apology to the community, with this type of action. As an association currently as I’m talking to you, the guys who were involved in the incident are already suspended,” adds Mali.
