Four alleged suspects have been shot and fatally wounded in a shootout without police in Woodlands south of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal.
Police says three others have been arrested whilst the search for those who fled the scene is ongoing.
The suspects were wanted for a number of serious crimes.

Meanwhile, last week, police in KwaZulu-Natal shot and killed five suspects who were wanted in connection with various cases.
They include the killing of police officers.
