Team of Blitzboks.
South Africa’s hopes of regaining the Dubai Sevens title they won five times from 2019 to 2023 have hit a little bump in the road.
Defending champions, Fiji, beat the Blitzboks 28-10 in their second Pool A match at the opening tournament of World Rugby’s 2025/26 Sevens Series.
The more physical Fijians scored four converted tries to South Africa’s two to remain the only unbeaten team in the Pool. They are favourites to advance to Sunday’s semi-finals as Pool A winners, while the Blitzboks, Argentina and France will fight it out for the remaining semi-final spot.
All three have won one and lost one so far.
South Africa play Argentina in their last pool match just after half past six this evening.
We believe. Good luck this weekend, gents as the #HSBCSVNS season starts for the #Blitzboks.
