National Dialogue 2025.
The chairperson of the Chief Albert Luthuli Foundation has decried the organisation of the National Convention, saying the ANC is using it to canvass votes in next year’s local government elections.
It is one of many other foundations that have withdrawn from the convention, which is taking place on the UNISA main campus in Pretoria.
The convention will culminate in the National Dialogue, which will be held throughout the country.
The foundation’s chairperson, Mthunzi Luthuli says, “All we are doing is to pretend to people that we are doing something when we are not doing anything meaningful, then it only amounts to a show, what I call political theatre, to pretend that we are doing something meaningful when we are not. This is what the government is doing. The other thing is that we suspect the reason why this government is rushing to do this is so that they can bolster their chances of winning the national (local) government elections next year, using government money and using this national dialogue to keep themselves relevant.”
