Yurav Premlall wins DP World tour

Twenty two-year-old South African golfer, Yurav Premlall, delivered one of the most commanding performances in the history of the DP World Tour, winning his maiden tournament by a massive margin of 14 shots.

Premlall made his breakthrough at the Catalunya Championship in Barcelona, Spain, with a winning score of 28-under par.

His 14-shot winning margin is a new record for a first-time winner, beating the previous record held by Tiger Woods.

Premlall started the final round with a 5-shot lead.

He is a rookie on tour, and before this tournament, his best finish was 19th.

He would’ve been forgiven if there were some nerves, instead, he handled the situation like a seasoned professional.

Premlall made 4 birdies in his opening 5 holes, and after birdies on 8 and 9, he opened up a 13-shot advantage.

After that, it was just a question of how big a margin he would win by.

At the end, he signed for a 9-under par 63, and he never took anything for granted during his round.

Premlall is the 3rd South African in his early 20’s to win a maiden title on the DP World Tour this season, joining Jayden Schaper and Casey Jarvis.
