More witnesses to be called in Meyiwa murder trial

The defence counsel in former Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is expected to call more witnesses on Tuesday.

This as the defence continues seeking to build its case for accused number two, Bongani Ntanzi, after Sergeant Tintswalo Mudau, a police officer at Villieria Police Station in Pretoria, concluded her evidence in chief.

Ntanzi and four others are on trial for Meyiwa’s killing in October 2014.

State Prosecutor Adv Ronnie  Sibanda questioned Mudau about the alleged recovery of a cellphone from Ntanzi during her shift.

Sibanda asked, “Are you aware a cellphone was sent to Middelburg for downloading?”

Mudau responded, “I don’t know my lord, and I did not even know that a cellphone was recovered.”

Madau also confirmed that she did not partake in the cell visit with Sergeant Vusumuzi Mogane and Sergeant Steven Mabena.
