Four men have been killed and two others wounded in a taxi-related shooting in Nyanga on the Cape Flats.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday morning. The two men who survived the attack were admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and no arrests have been made.
Western Cape police spokesperson André Traut says detectives attached to the Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Taxi Unit are following up on leads.
“Provincial detectives attached to the Provincial SVC Taxi Unit are pursuing all available leads to identify and apprehend those responsible, while forensic experts are processing the crime scene and gathering evidence as part of the ongoing investigation. Additional police deployments have been dispatched to the area to heighten security and maintain stability. The motive for the attack forms part of the police investigation.”
Police say forensic experts are processing the scene and collecting evidence as investigations continue.
