Adams expresses confidence in justice system after bail release

National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader and MP, Fadiel Adams, has expressed confidence in the criminal justice system after he was released on bail.

The Pinetown Magistrate’s Court in KwaZulu-Natal set bail at R10 000 after Adams spent 10 days in police custody.

He was arrested last week on two counts of defeating the ends of justice and three of fraud.

The state alleges he interfered in ongoing police investigations when he interviewed accused persons in high profile political killing cases at Westville Prison.

A relieved Adams briefly celebrated with a group of NCC and Patriotic Alliance supporters as he left the court after being released on bail.

“I’m going home to my wife, my kids, my mother. I’m feeling good. If you are looking for a smart sound bite, I don’t have one. I’m going home. I have total faith in the justice system. Thank you to my attorneys. See you all.”
