Orlando Pirates have started their Nedbank Cup title defence on a high note by progressing to the last 16 round.
The Buccaneers beat Richards Bay 3-1 in a first round match at the King Zwelithini stadium in Durban this afternoon.
Patrick Maswanganyi scored a brace for the visitors with Tshegofatso Mabasa scoring the third goal.
Yanela Mbuthuma scored the consolation goal for the home team.
