The South African men’s sevens rugby team is just two wins away from winning its home sevens tournament for the first time since 2015.

The Blitzboks reached the semi-finals of the Cape Town Sevens yesterday after easily beating Ireland and Argentina in their two Group C matches.

They will come up against Spain in the first of the two semi-finals just before two o’clock this afternoon.

Last week’s Dubai Sevens winners, Fiji take on Paris Olympic Games champions, France, in the other semifinal.

The Cape Town Sevens is the second event of World Rugby’s 2024/25 Sevens Series.
