The captain of the South African test cricket team, Temba Bavuma will lead his side in the two-match series against Sri Lanka starting in Durban next Wednesday.

Bavuma was cleared for selection following a fitness test on Monday.

He has recovered from a left elbow injury that sidelined him during the recent Test tour of Bangladesh.

All-rounder Marco Jansen and fast bowler Gerald Coetzee also return to the Test set-up for the first time since the series against India last summer.

The two along with Kagiso Rabada, Dane Paterson and all-rounder Wiaan Mulder complete the pace attack.

Keshav Maharaj and Senuran Muthusamy have been named as the two frontline spinners for the series.
