Bafana go atop Group K after victory over Uganda in Afcon qualifiers

Bafana Bafana are now top of Group K in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, after beating Uganda 2-0 in Kampala.

South Africa are now on 11 points after registering their third win in five matches.

Uganda are second in the group with ten points, with both nations having already qualified for next year’s Afcon tournament in Morocco.

But Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos wanted a win against Uganda targeting to finish top of the group with one qualifier remaining.

Substitute Thapelo Morena put Bafana Bafana in the lead early in the second half after a defensive blunder.

Patrick Maswanganyi who also came in as a substitute put the issue beyond doubt increasing Bafana Bafana’s lead late in the match.
