The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has written to President Cyril Ramaphosa, requesting an update on the academic fraud investigation at the University of Fort Hare.
The party says it is deeply concerned with the prolonged delay in concluding investigations, particularly those implicating senior African National Congress (ANC).
This includes Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane, Buffalo City Executive Mayor, Princess Faku, and ANC MP, Noxolo Kiviet.
The EFF says the Special Investigating Unit found Mabuyane to have been irregularly registered for a master’s degree.
EFF leader Julius Malema addressed party members outside the KuGompo City Regional Court yesterday, insisting Mabuyane got his qualifications fraudulently.
Mabuyane immediately issued a statement, saying he had instructed his lawyers to sue Malema for defamation.
