Geordin Hill-Lewis to run for Democratic Alliance leader position

The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Deputy Leader in the Western Cape, Geordin Hill-Lewis, has announced that he’ll run for the position of the party’s Federal Leader.
He made the announcement in Elsies River on the Cape Flats.
The announcement comes after the current leader, John Steenhuisen, said recently that he would not stand for re-election at the DA’s elective conference in April.
Hill-Lewis is the current Mayor of the City of Cape Town.
A number of DA supporters in party regalia are at the venue of the announcement to support Hill-Lewis.
