EFF Deputy Secretary-General Leigh-Ann Mathys opens a case against Paul O’Sullivan at the Cape Town Police Station on February 27, 2026.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has laid a criminal charge against private investigator Paul O’ Sullivan.
This follows his conduct during the Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee’s hearings on Thursday.
O’Sullivan walked out before completing his testimony, saying he was rushing to catch a flight.
The committee is awaiting advice on the matter from Parliament’s legal team.
National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza said she will decide on what action to take against O’Sullivan after receiving a report from committee chairperson Soviet Lekganyane.
EFF National Spokesperson Sinawo Thambo says, “The EFF is taking the correct position and the EFF has characterised Paul O’ Sullivan as a fugitive to the law violating the Powers, Privileges and Immunities Act of Parliament by cutting the submission to Parliament while he was under oath short, which is impeding on the work of the investigation that is ongoing by the legislature.”
