This was the third time Jarvis had started the final round of a DP World Tour event in the lead, and although still only 22, this victory was long overdue.
He’s still the only amateur to win South Africa’s Triple Crown, the South African Amateur Championship, the SA Stroke Play Championship and the African Amateur Championship and can look forward to next weekend’s SA Open in Stellenbosch with great confidence.
“It’s amazing. I’ve never won in front of my dad before. I’ve wanted to win in front of him so badly. To finally do it when he’s here, I feel… I can’t explain to you the emotions I was feeling, I was so nervous coming down the last two holes. It feels great!”
