Premier Soccer League defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns have a good chance of winning a trophy early in the 2024/2025 season.

Sundowns beat a stubborn Marumo Gallants 2-0 at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.

The Brazilians scored both goals in the second half.

Sundowns will now face giant killers Magesi FC in the final in Bloemfontein on the 23rd of November.

Sundowns were the overwhelming favourites going into this match but it was not one way traffic with Gallants also looking for an early goal.

It was still goalless at half-time.

Sundowns were awarded a penalty after a handball in the danger area in the 50th minute.

Brazilian Lucas Ribeiro make no mistake from the spot sending keeper Washington Arubi the wrong way.

Then Sundowns put the issue beyond doubt late in injury time with substitute Neo Maema finding the back of the net.
