Ad Hoc Committee on justice system probe gets extension until March

The work of the Ad Hoc committee probing allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the criminal justice system has now been extended to the 31st of March 2026.

This follows a motion by ANC Chief Whip Mdumiseni Ntuli, marking the third extension since the committee began its work.

“Members, I’m standing here to present a draft re-resolution that the house extends the deadline by which the Ad Hoc committee to investigate allegations made by Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has to complete its tasks to the 31st of March 2026.”

The Speaker accepted the motion without objection.

Some of the witnesses that are yet to testify before the committee include North West businessman Brown Mogotsi.

Mogotsi refused to appear in-person before the committee unless his security detail is paid for by Parliament for seven days and the institution indicated that engagements with him are continuing.
