FF Plus says it’s time for it to govern South Africa

The Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) has officially launched its voter registration campaign under the slogan It’s Our Time”.

The party has also unveiled its campaign poster and billboard in Centurion, Pretoria, as it gears up for next month’s voter registration weekend.

FF Plus leader Corné Mulder says the African National Congress (ANC) has failed South Africans through poor governance, and the time has come for the FF Plus to assume leadership.

“And if I say it’s our time, who would our time be? You say all of those people in South Africa who have been the victims of corruption, who have been the victims of no service delivery, who have seen their dreams evaporate because of a failed government. It’s our time together. We want to reach out to all South Africans and say, let’s take our hands and go forward and make a success.”

Mulder says the party is open to forming coalition governments with what he describes as “good people” after the November 4 local government elections.

Mulder says the FF Plus does not align itself with the policies of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, the Economic Freedom Fighters and the ANC.

“We believe that we can form coalitions of what I would like to call the good people. And there are good people obviously in all parties, but parties have different positions. We see that there are some parties that we do not agree with, like MK, the EFF and even the ANC. We prefer not to go with them, but other parties are there. For example, in Tshwane, it will most likely be a coalition between the Democratic Alliance and the Freedom Front Plus and some other parties as well.”

Mulder says the party has received an influx of new membership applications from people across different racial groups.

He says many South Africans are joining the FF Plus because the party has a clear sense of direction and remains firm on its policies and principles.

“With us, we know what we are saying, and we think it’s time that we turn South Africa around, and it can be constructively and positively done so. And while we do this, we are not abandoning our own base. But part and parcel of that reality is that South Africans are desperate for change. Freedom Front Plus is one of the parties on the rise, and that’s why we’re all part of coalition governments.”
