Madlanga orders disclosure of ‘Mr So and so’ despite safety concerns

The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry investigating criminality in the country’s criminal justice system, has ruled that KwaZulu-Natal Hawks head Major-General Lesetja Senona, read into the record the name of the person, thus far referred to as Mr So and so.

Mr So and so is allegedly linked to suspended Deputy National Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya.

This follows concerns raised by Senona’s legal team, that saying that name could endanger their client’s security.

The name pertains to a text sent by KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, to Senona.

Senona read the message in its entirety into the record following the ruling naming Steve Motsumi as Mr So and So.
