The State is expected to continue with the cross-examination of alleged underworld gang boss Nafiz Modack in the Western Cape High Court.
On Monday, the court heard that one of Modack’s co-accused, Zane Killian, used different names to convey information to Modack about Anti-Gang Unit detective, Charl Kinnear.
The state has repeatedly said Modack had a series of WhatsApp conversations with Killian under different code names.
It says one of the conversations that Killian had with Modack in June 2020 was about organising hitmen for Modack to kill Kinnear.
State prosecutor Greg Wolmarans said: “Killian had started to ping Kinnear’s wife. We have all these factors because we know that you, you had used Killian to ping Kinnear. Killian used the name Pablo Sherrif when communicating with Modack.”
