Defeating DA’s motion of no confidence is getting rid of a stumbling block: Lesufi

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi says all the parties that voted against the DA’s motion of no confidence in him have defeated the stumbling block in the way of the ANC to transform the lives of the people of Gauteng.

Lesufi survived a motion of no confidence against him after the EFF, MK Party, BOSA, ActionSA and the Patriotic Alliance rejected the motion and voted with the ANC.

The DA brought the motion accusing Lesufi of failing to provide effective governance, failure to create jobs and promote economic opportunities.

Lesufi thanked all parties including the ANC’s alliance partners.

“What has happened here you have no idea you have started a new revolution. All political parties that represent the aspirations of our people that represents the future came together to defeat racists in our country. We are reclaiming what belongs to our people, we are re-energized to confront the racists head on. We are tired of racists their time is over. They will never take us from apartheid and we defeat them.”

Meanwhile, Gauteng DA leader Solly Msimanga says unfortunately the residents of Gauteng will continue to suffer.

“There are more disasters that is going to be loading for the people of Gauteng. There is more unaccountability that is going to be happening, but we are not perturbed because history has shown us that whenever there are issues of maladministration, issues of corruption, the ANC has continued to protect its members it has come back to bite them a number of times. This is why we have so many commissions of enquiries and now we have a commission of enquiry that the country is going through.”
