Learners
The North West MEC for Education Viola Motsumi has expressed concern over increasing fatal collisions involving learners.
This after two learners from Roshunville Primary School in Schweizer Reneke died in a crash this week, while another learner sustained serious injuries.
The incident occurred on the road between Schweizer Reneke and Amalia, after the private vehicle they were travelling in allegedly collided with a bakkie.
Last month three learners died in a crash between Vryburg and Delareyville.
The North West department of Education spokesperson Vuyo Mantshule explains: “The MEC for Education, Viola Motsumi, who was deeply disturbed by the report, pleaded with the public to pray against the increasing number of learner-related accidents. At this stage, details regarding the memorial service and funeral arrangements are not yet available. The department will communicate the details once consultations with the affected families have been concluded.”
