Siwelele F.C. have eased their relegation worries after collecting maximum points on Sunday. They beat neighbours Marumo Gallants 1-nil in the Free State derby at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Mangaung, Bloemfontein.
The only goal of the match was scored by Tebogo Potsane in the first half.
After this victory, Siwelele moved from the bottom of the log to 12th spot. Gallants fought for an equaliser before the end of the first half, but it was 1-nil at half-time.
The visitors kept on probing and came close to scoring midway through the second half. Veteran keeper Washington Arubi produced a brilliant save to deny Siwelele their second goal of the match.
Former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates forward Zakhele Lepasa made his debut for Siwelele, after a long injury lay-off, 14 minutes from time.
