Bafana Bafana are still in the driving seat in Group C in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after playing to a 1-1 draw with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The match was played at the Bloemfontein Stadium in the Free State earlier Tuesday evening.

With this draw, Nigeria have now moved to second spot in the group with 11 points, pending the outcome of the match between Benin and Lesotho to be played later this evening.

Benin and Rwanda are third and fourth respectively also with 11 points. Nigeria were dealt a major blow in the opening minutes of the match after an injury to defender Ola Aina.
It went from bad to worse for the Super Eagles when their captain William Ekong scored an own goal in the 25th minute, after a good run by Mohau Nkota on the right.
