Warning issued for disruptive rainfall in W Cape

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for disruptive rainfall across the Western Cape from Thursday into the weekend.

The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management Centre says that they’re ready to deal with the impact of the inclement weather.

Disaster Risk Management spokesperson Charlotte Powell says Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) partners are also on standby to provide humanitarian assistance.

Powell has asked residents to address any issues on their properties to lessen the risk of localised flooding.

“Also, please log service requests for any City-related services so that these can be assigned to the relevant departments,” says Powell.
